This group is for the benefit for all of us, the photographers who participate in salons as well as for the salon organizers. We are setting some Do’s & Don’ts to make the group more efficient & a helpful place for all.
IMPORTANT for all:
1. Only Salon related posts will be allowed. No spamming please.
2. Every day, any of the admin or any one member will post a complete list of active salons (which are featuring in this group) with basic details. This will allow you to plan when you can participate during the day. The list will be created according to the closing date in order of nearest to farthest. If two or more salons will close on the same date, we will add their details in alphabetical order.
IMPORTANT for Salon Organizers:
3. Salon organizer/coordinator strictly cannot post/repost/forward his/her salon list just for the sake of promotion.
4. If you are a Salon organizer, then please contact Mr Sadiqur Rahman (+91-9864538811/ email@threedots.in) to add your salon information in this group.
5. Salon organizers/coordinators can share/re-share/forward/ the post in this group only in the last three days of a salon and not more than three times per day. The “Three days allowance” is reserved for the actual closing date only. Therefore, if the salon’s closing date is extended, then the organizer should only post three days before the extended closing date. Example. If a salon closes on the 10th of a month, the organizer can share his/her salon details only 8th, 9th & 10th. If the closing date is extended to the 15th, then he/she can post only 13th, 14th & 15th and not 8th, 9th & 10th. However, for any reason if the organizer has already promoted the salon on 8thor 9th or 10th and the salon dates have been extended, he/she cannot promote it again on any further dates.
6. Friday Rule: Salon organizer or coordinator can share their salon poster/creative only once in each Friday. This way, we can make this group little colorful. Otherwise only post with text is looking little boring. Isn’t it?
IMPORTANT for Participants:
7. Add your name only after uploading your photographs & paying the entry fee to a salon. It is useless if you add your name on WhatsApp but can’t upload your photographs for any reason. To put it simply, from now on, if we see your name on the WhatsApp Salon list, it will be understood that you have already registered & paid the entry fee.
8. An entrant can add only his/her name. Please do not add anyone else’s name on their behalf.
9. From now on, you can post about your medals/ribbons/awards/certificates/etc., whenever you receive one. That will motivate others to participate more. Please do not post the photograph/s that have won the award. We would love to see the catalogue from the salon where you won something. So, you can share the complete salon catalogue if you want.
10. IIG recommendation
We have noticed a few salons or their organizers lack efficiency in terms of sending awards, communication (are not responsive to entrants’ calls or emails) or give lots of pdf certificates as awards. These are few off many other regular issues that leads to bad experiences in a few poorly arranged salons.
On the other hand, some salons are really good in all these parameters. They even offer special medals that are not a cheap quality, ready-made medals.
Some members get confused or are unable to decide which salon to participate in & which to not. No one wants to get a poor experience after paying the entry fee & spending time to register & upload their entries. We get queries very often to decide which one you should participate in.
So, we have decided to proactively suggest a few salons which are really good & worth participating after carefully considering their past performance/past experiences they have provided.
Mainak Dey, Kalyan Chattopadhyay & Udayan Sankar Pal will mark “IIG recommended” in those salons which we feel are worth participating.
11. Sending mails to hundreds of salons for group discount is very time consuming.
Now onwards, we will send mails only to those salons which we find, worth participating.
Also, any member can suggest any salon’s name if they want to participate in it and we will contact those salons for the group discount.
Important note for Indian Entrants: Please note that this group or IIG is not registered with FIP. So, never indicate IIG or India International Group as your club while registering to any FIP approved salon/circuit. Either write your club’s name while registration or keep it blank. FIP doesn’t allow participating in different salons from different clubs. Please write IIG as “reference” when you are sending the payment details to the salon Chairman if you accept the special discount offered for this group’s members alone.
Please obey all the FIP/FIAP/PSA or similar organization’s rules & regulations. You will be removed from this group if you do not adhere to the rules set forth by these organizations and if we have been notified of the same through any official channel.
Any individual banned by any of these organizations cannot be member of this group.
AvTvISO is not responsible for any mistake made by any individuals of this group. The individual will be responsible for any errors they make.
Let’s Learn Together
We have a separate WhatsApp group for learning & getting reviews of our images from each other. Please request any of the IIG Admins in the main salon group if you want to join this Learning WhatsApp Group. This group is open to anyone who is willing to join.
We have few rules to follow in this group. Request you to go through the group rules before you join the group.
A. You will get hard feedback on your images. Hard feedback will be given, so we can improve ourselves. Please do not join that group if you cannot accept negative feedback or criticism.
B. We will definitely discuss the positive points of a photo which we should keep following but not for “people pleasing”. This group will not be made to make each other happy by praising each other alone.
C. Anyone can review anyone’s images. However, you have to see the photographs on a laptop or computer monitor (bigger screen) and you are not allowed to give the feedback after seeing the images only on your phone.
D. There is no compulsion to join this group and anyone can exit from this group at any time. No questions will be asked.
F. Feedback is feedback. There is no compulsion for the photographer to agree or disagree with it, nor is there any compulsion to follow the feedback. It’s a photographer’s decision whether they want to take the feedback and make changes or not.
G. We believe no question is a stupid question unless the intention is wrong. So, you can ask any question you have related to photography. We will try to answer those as a group. Please remember we will not be judgmental with your question and photographs.
Also note that, at IIG, we do not believe in small photographer or big photographer, famous photographers or a new photographer, etc. Here at IIG, we all have only one identity. We are a photographer and that’s it. IIG is not a place to showcase our ego. So, you are free to ask any question you have if your intention is to learn and improve your photography.
H. We will request few experts in the field of photography to join as special reviewers. They will also give us feedback whenever they want and on whatever photo they choose. There will be no compulsion for them to review each image or within any specific time frame.
I. Please note that Photography is an art form. There is nothing wrong or right in any art. It’s all about your expression, how you want to express or tell a story. So, if you do not agree or if you have any different view on a particular review, you are free to converse about it, however your language needs to be polite and respectful. If there is any clash between opinions, that should be mutually resolved in this group only and there will be no scope at all to escalate the matter in any other forum by any other means.
J. Admins are only responsible to manage this group’s daily activity and they are not liable for any other issues.
K. Only English is allowed in this group. Regional language can be used for one to one conversation for better understanding occasionally.
L. We may update the group rules periodically whenever we feel required to safe guard the interest of this group that is learning from each other.
Let’s Go Together
We have a separate WhatsApp group for Travel & Trips. Please request any of the IIG Admins in main salon group to join in this Travel WhatsApp Group. This group is open for anyone to join.
We have few rules to follow in this group. Request you to go through the group rules before you join the group.
A. We will try to create a Google Calendar and will add travel information there. You can plan you travel according to what interests you there.
B. You can use this group for any communication related to photography.
C. You can try to find your travel buddy. For example, if you plan to go somewhere and you need a partner, you can post here and see if you can make a team.
D. The person who initiates the trip here in this group will be the leader for that particular trip.
E. If there are more than 3 members from IIG, we can consider it as an IIG Team. If it is an IIG Team, IIG will try to find some sponsors (in part or whole) for the trip or can sponsor a part of that trip as well depending on fund availability.
F. Please WhatsApp your emergency family contact number/s to 8801166930 so we can communicate with them for any emergency. Your contact numbers will be deleted after your trip is completed and will not share with anyone else in any situation post your travel.
G. You are NOT allowed to create a separate WhatsApp group for your travels if the members are from this group or if we consider your group is an IIG Team. All conversation related to your travel needs to be done here in this group so we can stay updated about your trip and we can intervene or help by chance you need that during your travel.
H. In these trips, everyone is expected to pay their own expenses. No one can charge anything to other members. The costs will need to be shared on actuals and NO mentor/membership/guidance/services fee can be charged.
I. IIG, IIG admins or the member of the trip will not be responsible for you. You need to take care of your own belongings/Insurance/tickets/safety/health/finance/hotels or anything and everything. The idea behind this group is simple, “I am going. So, if you want to come, you are free to join on your own liability and responsibility.
Example-1: Kalyan Chattopadhyay Travels to Mathura every year for Holi. He welcomes anyone who wants to join him. He will guide you with the required information.
Example-2: Udayan Sankar Pal travels to Kulasai Dasara Festival every year. You can go with him if you want to shoot in Kulasai. He will share his date/time of the travel, details travel plan and hotel details. You can book your tickets/hotels yourself and all of you can enjoy photography together.
If you go with Kalyan Chattopadhyay or Udayan Sankar Pal, you do not need to pay anything to them.
We want to create the same Travel Experience for ALL and break the dependency on packaged photo tours for IIG Photographers.
K. You can ask any question related to travel photography, how to go, when to go, or any other such question about the trip and we will share the information if we have it.
L. We will not share any commercial travel/photo tour here. Only that travel information will be available/can be posted in this group if it is organized by any IIG Members at actual cost.
M. You will be responsible for your travel and no one in the group or IIG will be responsible for anything, including any kind of mishap or accident. So, always use your own good judgement.
N. Only English is allowed in this group. Regional language can be used for one to one conversation for better understanding occasionally.
O. There is no compulsion to join this group or joining any trip even after joining the group. You are free and we encourage you to enjoy your freedom.

Criteria: You will receive 1 point each time you participate with IIG in a salon where IIG wins an award. For example, IIG won an award in “HPS Athens-2021” and everyone who participated in this salon with IIG will be credited with 1 point.
You need to earn 10 points to be conferred IIG/p. With each additional 10 points, you will be conferred IIG/p2, IIG/p3, etc.

Eligibility: Open to everyone worldwide
You will receive a Personalized Memento & an eCertificate!
Criteria: You need to win 10 awards from the exhibitions organized by AvTvISO/IIG or any exhibitions which has IIG patronage to be conferred IIG/s. With each additional 10 awards, you will be conferred IIG/s2, IIG/s3, etc.
